Annika Hinze is a senior lecturer in the department of computer science at the University of Waikato. She received a Master's degree in Technical Mathematics from the Technical University Berlin, Germany, and a PhD in Computer Science from the Freie Universitaet Berlin in 2003.
Annika is head of the Databases and Information Systems (ISDB) group at Waikato. She is also the ACM's Committee on Women in Computing (ACM-W) ambassador for New Zealand. Her research interests are in complex event processing, location-based systems and semantic annotation in digital libraries.
